Oh, no! More X problems!

While I have an install of CS 1.1 running on my old 7200/75 (144MB/1.0GB
Primary w/ MacOS, 2.0 GB secondary w/ YDL), and am running web, sendmail,
telnet, and ftp that are accessible remotely, I CANNOT run X on the
console. Yes, I've restarted "xfs", I've tried "No video driver" both
checked and unchecked. Xconfigurator always shows a "problem with my setup.
I've got a 14" Gold Star GT3031 monitor (it's an oldy, to be sure) and I'm
using the stock Apple vidoe card (the system recognizes it as "platinum"
with 1mb available).

If I use "startx" here's what I get:
**************

[root@gwagen net]# clear
[root@gwagen net]# startx
xauth: error in loading shared libraries: libXmu.so.6: cannot open shared
object
file: No such file or directory
xauth: error in loading shared libraries: libXmu.so.6: cannot open shared
object
file: No such file or directory
xinit: error in loading shared libraries: libXmu.so.6: cannot open shared
object
file: No such file or directory
[root@gwagen net]#

***************

...worse still, if I go to shutdown, I get this:

***************

[root@gwagen net]# shutdown -h now
shutdown: error in loading shared libraries: libXext.so.6: cannot open
shared ob
ject file: No such file or directory
[root@gwagen net]#

****************

I wind up using linuxconf, either at the console, logged in as root, or via
a telnet session from my other Macs.

As for the install, I downloaded the ISO image(on January 10) and burned a
CD to do the install. Will using the "official" CDs make any difference so
far as the "lib" problem?
