AFAICT, support for this is in the next version of XFree86 (currently
alpha?), but not in the current
version. So, if my understanding is correct, you could still probably
run separate window
managers on the different monitors (who wants to do that though?).
Check the versions of XFree86 and X11Rx for more details...
