Hmmm.. I downloaded the 2.2.6 kernel from ftp. I tried
doing any ppp operations and I got the same messages,
i.e. ppp is not supported in the kernel. I had to load
it as a module by cd'ing to /lib/modules/2.2.2/net and
force loading the slhc and ppp modules. Only after
doing that does ppp work.

Is there a way for me to check what's built into the
kernel? Is there a /proc entry?

I'm also going to try the kernel-pmac and kernel-prep
RPM's and hopefully that will work with my iMac.
