How to mount ide ZIP (mac format)

How can you mount the ide zip on a beige g3 with YDL?

I think that hda is the ide hd, hdb is the zip, hdc is the cdrom.

trying:

> mount /dev/hdb /zip

returns " /dev/hdb is not a valid block device"

I can't see /dev/hda because its HFS+.

I need a way to transfer over new rpms to YDL.
