1.2 upgrade problem...

Got my system upgraded to 1.2, but it fails to boot cleanly. It does
fine until the X system starts up, and then I get:

XF86/Config: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config
{a few lines of config info)

Fatal Server error:
No valid modes found

When reporting errors, please ... [and the rest of this message]

% connection to :0.0 broken (complete kill or server shutdown).
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
(repeated 9 times)
switching back to runlevel 3
INIT: switching to runlevel 3
INIT: sending processes the TERM signal
Starting pcmcia
Starting linuxconf
INIT: No more processes at this runlevel

and it wedges.
