I grabbed the tar.gz from www.windowmaker.org and compiled it myself. No
problems. You'll need libprops too IIRC but that's relatively painless too.
I had no problems compiling under YDL. I'm using 0.61 I think.
There are a couple of flags you need to set to inclued Gnome and KDE
support, but it's all in the INSTALL file.
