If you can in fact FTP into your machine, you will be placed in the home
dir. of the user you logged in as. This can be changed in the /etc/passwd
file. What I would reccomend, is that you ftp your files into a users'
directory, and telnet in and move everything...that's the easiest way...if
you start to play around with the http folder with other users, there's a
chance of having incorrect permissions on files, and no one will have
access to your box.

I too would like to know how to do this and also to make sure that I can
upload files in the /home/httpd/html/ directory.
