Seems to me that you boot your system with kernel 2.2.6-...
The installation of CS 1.2 installs kernel 2.2.15... and corrosponding
modules to /boot.
But the kernel which is booted is sitting on your PReP boot partition. I
don't know about CS 1.2 installation procedure concerning this, since I
have still CS 1.1.
I suggest to put zImage versin 2.2.15... that belongs to the kernel in
/boot to the PReP boot partition. The zImage file should be found in /boot
as well named zImage-VERSION.or.so.CHRP.or.something.like that. Use

        dd if=/boot/zImageFILENAME of/dev/sdYOUR_PReP_partition

to install. Be careful, if you dd to the wrong partion you will destroy it
completely!

If kernel version and modules do match it should work. If there still
problems try to compile your own kernel.

Bye the way which RS/6000 do you have?
