pants pants pants - Cannot install yellowdog

Ok, my setup is a pre-blue G3 tower, running at 266, with 196MB RAM, 6GB
internal HD and a 6GB external scsi HD. And I can't install yellowdog.
Believe me I've tried, and whilst being a 'relative' newcomer I have done
several installations on Intel boxes, some easy some hard, but nonetheless
worked.

I am (trying....) to install it onto the 6GB scsi drive that's attached to
the port on the back. To start with I got the signal 11 error towards the
middle of the installation. So I went to the site and downloaded the latest
installer, ok, nice, more options, this looks better, but always, without
fail, either at the start of the package installation or near the end it
just stops, that's it, stops, like it's taking a break.
I've retried several times, lost count after thirty, and most of the times
it happens when it tries to install the first package.
Yes, I have formatted the scsi disk and partitioned it.

Pants, it really is pants. I was so eager to get it working on the Mac,
really looking forward to it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Luis.
