Okay guys,
The postgre problem has been solved. The problem was a very basic
programming error. The lack of the use of prototypes caused the problems
and postgre only works on other platforms by pure chance. This has been
passed onto the Postgre maintainers but as it requires a large code
rewrite.. I don't expect to see an update for a bit..
