Thanks to all that responded to my question. Jim Cole hit the nail right on
the head when he suggested the verison of bash at the school might be old.
It's version 1.14.7 (1), whereas the one I'm running at home under YDL is
2.03.1 (1). Plus, the command to tell the version number was greatly
appreciated!
