I haven't had any such problems. My video card is located in slot 4
or 5 and works fine. My non-Adaptec SCSI card didn't work in slot 1
...

Furthermore, my boot messages seem to indicate that the kernel found
and chatted with both Bandit controllers (1 for each bus).
