So long as you compile Apache to work from /usr/local/apache, then yes, go
ahead and change the /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd script to point to
/usr/local/apache. Just be sure to tell Apache that its config files are
in /usr/local/apache/conf when you cimpile it..
Other than that, it works like a champ! :-)
