Subject: teTeX/LaTeX/TeX problem

I keep getting errors trying to process a simple *.tex file via latex
(see attached text files). Anything obvious? I can't figure out how to
create the latex.fmt or tex.fmt files. Nothing on various TeX-related
sites have helped. Would appreciate any pointers. Thanks!

I can't find the format file `latex.fmt'!
