Hi all,

One more small issue with my Powerbook G3. The external DVD drive works
great as a CD player, and is correctly detected by Linux as an ATAPI
CDROM drive. The trouble is, put a DVD disk in the drive and the CDROM
driver starts going bezerk.

The following lines are logged in the syslog over and over again:

Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: ATAPI device hdc:
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: Error: Illegal request -- (Sense
key=0x05)
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: Cannot read medium - incompatible
format -- (asc=0x30, ascq=0x02)
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: The failed "<NULL>" packet command
was:
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: "42 02 40 01 00 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 "
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 {
DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Oct 25 08:35:50 jessica kernel: hdc: packet command error: error=0x50
[repeat hundreds of times]

Is there any actual DVD support for Linux yet, or at least a way to
convince Linux not to freak out when it sees a DVD in the drive?

Regards,
Graham
