What do you mean zero out the disk. I've created an empty dos partition table, tried creating a empty Sun disklable, the autoconfigure didn't work, so I picked the custom option and accepted the defaults, even though they look wrong to me. That let me partition the drive, but later when it tried to mount the partition, it was not able to. The install stopped at that point and wouldn't go farther. A couple of questions, what parameters did you tell fdisk to use for your disk and is there any way to drop out of the installer and into a shell to see what is going on? Thanks.

You might need to zero out the disk. There might be something there
confusing fdisk.

(For the record, we have Linux on one of those 9GB drives running fine)

I went to IBM's storage site and tried to put in the parameters I thought were right, however when I exited fdisk and the setup filesystems screen came up, none of the sizes were right. Has anyone else installed one of these with a 9 gig drive? ( IBM DNES-309170) Thanks.
