it wouldn't install on an external scsi. on a g3 beige tower and also the 9600

what i have it on now is the internal drive of a stock 9600/300 with a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro67TXV 17" monitor.

the install still segfaulted on the internal, but after a hard reset, the installer continued on ok.

the problem now is when it setup the monitor resolutions, the program gives you a dialog that says can you read this - i could but didn't realize at the time it was only half working. when you scroll a window everything is AFU.
because i'm new at linux, i don't have the first clue of how to fix this setting so i can start to learn how to use anything. frustrating as hell - i feel like a computing neophyte.
