Subject: mouseconfig installation problem

I'm installing YDL from the Champion Server 1.1 CD on a beige desktop G3, and everything worked just perfectly up 'til I got to the mouse config part:
I selected that I have an Apple one button ADB mouse, then hit OK. The screen went blank, with "mouseconfig 3.9" (I think) at the top, and a blinking cursor at the bottom.
At that point, nothing seems to work: clicking the mouse, holding down modifier keys, typing, pressing Return, etc. The only thing that made a difference was typing Ctl-C, which aborted the installation unsuccessfully...
What am I supposed to do next? Thanks!
