Rich,
I'm mainly concerned with stability issues. I have done 12 years of Progress (sounds similar but is completely different to Postgres) and I can write a system based on Progress. However, the way to access a Progress DB is rather 'non standard' and I would much rather use something I can access through a PHP interface.
Is there anything I should watch out for or absolutely don't do, even the manual says it's ok?
Also, I'd like to know if there is any type of 4GL I could use to access a Postgres DB with (I guess, Progress spoilt me in this regard). C/C++, Java, etc. are not know for their speedy development times ...
Best regards,
Chris
