SuSE install went horrible.
Well, it installed just fine- but the key mapping were wrong. I
couldn't log into the gui login.

Furthermore, the keyboard didn't work in console when I booted single
to see what was going on.

I booted single off my kernel, keyboard worked. Changed the default
runlevel. Rebooted off my kernel, console worked perfectly. Installed
my modules (my kernel has eth built in so I could ftp my stuff over)
and commented stuff out of modules.conf that my kernel didn't need.

Rebooted, everything was fine console. Started X, NO keyboard or
mouse. Something about the way they do X doesn't work with my kernel
with kbd/mouse.

YellowDog, LinuxPPC, Linux From Scratch (very debian like) both work
in X with my kernel.

My SuSE install was default everything. I just put a bigger HD in
that iMac, and will do a full install tomorrow- if the same keyboard
thing happens again, I'll have to contact SuSE support. (OK- I'll
look at the FAQ first...)

I saw this identical problem with the keyboard in X with LinuxPPC
1999 when installing with an adb keyboard and usb mouse. The fix was
to install all adb, but with an iMac...

I suspect its same problem (keyboard mapping) but different cause.
