        No, things didn't get better. I decided to repeat the
        procedure, but after having disconnected the power cord and
        removed both batteries (even though, for the bronze PowerBook,
        the procedure doesn't say to to this).

        This time I think things worked better. I also had to reset
        the date/time (from 1/1/1904), but I've since put it to sleep
        and woken it back up again several times now and it's been
        fine. :-)
