Do the nameservers resolve addresses?
You should have nslookup installed if you have BIND installed.
You can test resolution by entering:
$nslookup
(enters nslookup session)
> server 129.116.64.10
(set the ns to the specified ip)
> www.dilbert.com
(try and resolve a domain name)
> exit
(leave nslookup)
That should give you some extra diags. It may be that those servers
aren't NSs.
