Subject: Toggling 3D Sound

Folks,
Does anybody know if 3D sound (think MacOS8.5+ on the iMac) is a hardware
function, or a software function? For anybody that's used an iMac with the
MacOS, you know how crappy music sounds unless you turn off 3D sound. (And
how nice some video games sound if you *use* 3D sound.)
Based on the quality of the audio from XMMS, I suspect that 3D sound is
toggled on. Is there a function within YDL to take care of this?
