Simon,
I haven't tried yet to be honest. I've seen some instructions around the
web on how to tell Linux to use both at the same time but haven't sat down
to try it. I had to wipe my Linux partition for OS X Beta 4, but will be
installing it back on again soon. I was so happy with getting the built in
display working that I haven't tried an external monitor yet.
