 More on this...

On my servers, I'm running OpenSSH-2.5.1p1 and YDL installs a more
current version (OpennSSH-2.5.2p1). So, for me, it is easier to re-compile
the earlier version and install that on my machine rather than update all
of my servers. Does anyone know of any exploits/reasons why I should
upgrade to 2.5.2?

As a side note, I installed YDL on my G3 laptop for the first time. I did
the 'Office/Home' install, and brought my laptop home. Once I got home, I
tried to connect to my server, and had forgotten that I hadn't
'downgraded' OpenSSH on the laptop... so, I ftp'd to my machine and
grabbed the source for 2.5.1, untarred it, cd to opennssh-2.5.1p1/ did
./configure --with-pam...etc.. oops! No compiler installed!! This
surprised me, I know that Terra Soft is trying to get into the home/user
market, but honestly, why would anyone want to install Linux without a c
compiler? It makes installing any software that isn't in binary rpm format
impossible... even OS X installs gcc (but renamed to cc). Was this done
for disk space reasons? Just curious.

Cheers,

Chris
