Subject: mysql support in PHP?

Okay, I'm pretty sure this can be done without recompiling, but I
can't figure out the hack...

PHP as shipped with YD doesn't have the MySQL support compiled in. I
believe there's a way to get PHP to load in the MySQL libraries
without recompiling PHP from scratch - but I can't find the magic
widget.

Has anyone done this? If so, what do you have to do? It seems to be a
tweak to the php3.ini file and copying around the right .so library,
but I've been whacking at it for a couple of hours, and it's still
not running.

Any hints? Or should I just pull down PHP and rebuild the mod_php from scratch?
