So if I understand you correctly, you recommend taking the 27Gb drive
and splitting it up into the partitions.

Partition 1 -- MacOs (Main OS) HFS -- System boot (also used as xfer
                                                   area between YDL
                                                   and MacOS)
Partition 2 -- MacOS (Applications ++) HFS+
Partition 3 -- SWAP ??? format
Partition 4 -- root ??? format

It sounds like there's no way for me to get out of having to reinstall
everything. :-( I'm just going to need to get into Drive Setup and
rearange the structure of my disk.

Am I going to be 'screwed' because I can't boot from other than the
first partition?

If I read the doc's correctly, I think that I can use bootx with the iMac 333.
(though I also have the option of yaboot).
