Subject: v2.4.4 and keymaps

Hi all,
I have just successfully managed to get v2.4.4 of the kernel to work on
my 1999 Powerbook G3. There is one niggling problem though - the keymaps
are mixed around.
Most of the keys are fine. Specifically the ~ key on the lower left of
the keyboard does not do anything, instead the tilde is obtained by
pressing the +_ key below the esc key the same as an american 101
keyboard.
In addition to this, after installing Ximian GNOME v1.4 the backspace
key is now doing a delete. I am not sure if this is to do with the
kernel (they were upgraded at the same time) or something else.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting the keyboard to
work 100%?
