        You need to keep a MacOS partition to be able to boot. For a
        4GB disk, just use 128MB for / and shrink /usr and /home
        proportionately.

        You really really don't want everything in one big root
        partition...I don't care what anybody else says. If you end up
        trashing your root partition (as I did once), you will only have
        to wipe that one partition: the rest of your disk will be safe.
