You may have seen this on yellowdog-devel where it was posted by accident.

I've tried getting the sources to gnome evolution but there's lots of
pre-requisites:

So far, on a YDL developmetn install I've had to add

GConf-1.1.4.tar.gz ? ? ? gtkhtml-0.16.1.tar.gz
ORBit-0.5.8.tar.gz ? ? ? libxml-1.8.16.tar.gz
bonobo-1.0.10.tar.gz ? ? oaf-0.6.7.tar.gz
bonobo-conf-0.14.tar.gz ?pkgconfig-0.8.0.tar.gz
evolution-0.99.2.tar.gz ?xpenguins_applet-0.9beta1.tar.gz
gal-0.18.1.tar.gz

I'm stuck on GConf-1.1.4.

checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for gmodule-2.0 >= 1.3.5 gobject-2.0 >= 1.3.5 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.3.94...
Package gmodule-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gmodule-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gmodule-2.0' found

configure: error: Library requirements (gmodule-2.0 >= 1.3.5 gobject-2.0 >=
1.3.5 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.3.94) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH
environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so
pkg-config can find them.

This seems to want glib 2.0 but I have glib-1.2.8-4
?rpm -q glib
glib-1.2.8-4

Is there a way to build Evolution so you don't need gnome 2.0?
Anyone done this?
