if this isn't an istall problem:
to mount HFS you have to have the thing filled out properly. Assuming
you're putting it into /mnt/mac, and /mnt exists but /mnt/mac doesn't:

su
cd /mnt
mkdir mac
mount -t hfs /dev/hda9 /mnt/mac

Mount needs a directory to mount to, preferably empty except for . and ..
Mount is normally restricted to root.

Now, if hda9 is the partition you want to install YDL onto, then it needs
to be ufs, not hfs.

if it is an install problem: the rh installer probably can't read hfs. you
might try launching the installer, then hitting <cmd>-f2 to get the shell,
and manually mount it in /mnt/cd which is where it's probably going to
look. The installer boots from a ramdisk, and yes, you can mount other
filesystems into the installer ramdisk.
