I am having the identical problems with my video display. I was
able to similarly resolve the installation using
"video=aty128fb:vmode:20" as the argument to install and linux
boot kernels. Also am in text login mode after a (finally)
successful installation of YDL v2.0.

My screen text is shifted left slightly offscreen, losing about
5 characters. I am unable to do a successful Xconfigurator or
XF86Config-4 without my screen blanking out.

Has anyone had similar problems or already resolved this? This
seems like its specific to the dual G4. I had a perfectly good
working version of YDL (from last year) using the same
hardware. What broke?

I would really appreciate any helpful information to get my X
display up and running. Also very interested in any details for
YDL2 SMP kernel and experiences. Thanks.
