actually, i grabbed it directly from the yellowdog ftp site this morning.
unfortunately, the creation date was changed to the time i downloaded it,
so i can't be sure this is the one, but here's the path to the file i took:

/pub/yellowdog/updates/champion-1.0/install/updcd_ramdisk.image.gz

as i said, i was able to go through almost the full install, where last
night i wasn't able to get past the second screen -- so i assume i
downloaded a newer ramdisk image than the one on the CD.

can i login in single user mode to get around this? how do i go about doing
that? [i'm coming from mklinux, where you just hit "s" in the bootX
equivalent at startup.

thanks,
-perry
