None that I know of yet...

This is really gonna help sell PPC computers to Intel people that don't
like buying into Apple's monopoly on the hardware. They would much prefer
to see Apple as just another manufacturer.

To be honest, I don't use MacOS anymore and I really would like to buy
something cheaper than Apple's cheapest. I don't even care if it is
beige ;). If Apple lowers prices, that is good too.

If this means what I think it means, then we will have many more, over
all, PPC boxes in the world which will mean more hardware.

I should also mean that if apple doesn't get AGP (and the like)
technologies into PPC boxes fast enough, someone else will.

I would like to see x86 and PPC machines getting technologies at the same
time and same pace, without waiting for Apple to include it in a design
cycle.

I am not sure if this announcement automatically makes the aforementioned
possible (and if it doesn't, i would like to know if anyone does know),
but it would be great. Maybe folks like Dell and Gateway will offer PPC
as an option ;).

I think Linux's involvement in IBM has had a damn positive effect.

I get the feeling though that this doesn't include CHIP designs (like the
G3/G4 etc) but I am assuming that third-parties (oh AMD, make as a PPC
Athlon!) can make their own PPC ready chips???? ANyone care to comment?

Thanks.
