MacOS is right over there. Enjoy. You won't like Linux at all.

On the other hand, if you can come up with some AI that will read a
README and INSTALL file and figure out how to install a particular
program, then putting a GUI around that wouldn't be too hard at all.

That's a strange value of "correctly". Why don't you tell us what you
did, what you expected, and what happens when you try them? (Nothing
does "absolutely nothing".)
