You would need to give BootX the root device. When I want to boot from my
test installation on a jaz, I simply change the line in the BootX control
panel from hde7 (expansion bay ide drive, partition 7) to sda4. It's not
very clear to me whether you're trying to boot linux from the zip or simply
macos.
Hey, wait a minute, you're using a 6100? Then you won't be able to tun
linuxppc on it. It's not supported (cf
http://www.linuxppc.com/about/hardware/apple/), as it's aNUBUS machine. You
need to use MkLinux <www.mklinux.org> on these machines.
