/etc/skel was there.
If there is a seperate package for components of /etc/skel I would
need to argue that that's philosphically wrong. I know of nothing in
any /etc/skel I've ever seen that wouldn't be better installed by the
package it directly affects.

those items belong as part of bash- just like /etc/bashrc does.

I did a default install adding gnome and devel environment options.
Is there a certain option that's NOT selected at default for
installing the skel package?

That aside, the rpm I built does provide /bin/bash2 which is nice for
compatability reasons with some Red Hat srpms.

Yes- I just need to add the gnu bash-documentation tarball to the rpm.
