I've actually been using the new inputlayer with the 2.2.18 kernel for a
while now. I double checked though, and both /dev/mouse and /dev/usbmouse are
symlinked to /dev/input/mice. That's why I came to the conclusion that I had
done something incorrectly when I configured my 2.4 kernel.
