I had all those errors last weekend when trying to compile the kernel
source myself. My work around was to go to penguinppc.org and obtained
the benh source trees and compile those. First shot with that source
tree and all worked great. Matter of fact never had a better kernel.
What I got was the 2.4.6-pre6...
