Hi Ake,

I had tried as well to compile the rtl8139 module without success.

I was able to have my SMC card (rtl8139 chip) to work, but only as 10Mbs,
which is the speed of the internal ethernet on my 9600. So, no gain. If you
do not have internal ethernet on your 7600 use the module that comes with
2.2.19 and force the card to work at 10Mbs.

Which one did you try?

Philippe

Well, I'm not sure what you mean but I haven't got any new card
working yet, on my 7600 and kernel 2.2.19. But I have tried to
compile a new driver with the help of Sean O Denney ( as seen under
"Compiling RTL82139 module?") without success.
