Hi,

I had a bit of an issue getting my modem working on my pbg3 266mhz wallstreet.
As it turned out, there was something screwy with the routing table that I had
to fix. It's been a while, so I don't remember any longer what specifically.
I used the gui kppp to set up my connection, and I had to selest the option
"make this the default route". This may have been all.

Try this out and see what happens, and if it doesn't work, check out the
routing table by entering the command

/sbin/route -n

When I do that, I get :

brainium:~$ /sbin/route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
129.119.251.5 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0
127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 lo
0.0.0.0 129.119.251.5 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0

The 127.0.0.0 entry is the "loopback" entry corresponding to my machine. I
seem to recall that it was missing initially.

Anyways, I'm not very experienced, and in all likelyhood, this may all make
more sense to you than to me. So let me not go on unless you need me too;-)
