Hey all,

Išve got a vexing problem.

I have a small network setup behind a linksys router/firewall, which
includes a ydl2.0 box, and a mac box.

More specifics:
* basic services are setup on my linux machine including sendmail, ssh,
apache, etc.
* My router is configured to forward port requests to ports 80 (http), 25
(sendmail), and 22 (ssh) to my linux machine and block all other incoming
requests.
* I have a dynamic dns setup which automagically gets mapped to my routers
current WAN IP using ddclient (a dynamic dns daemon).
* I can send and receive mail to my linux machine using the dynamic dns name

Now here is the problem (the linksys tech support couldn't help): From my
mac machine on my network, I am able to load and view webpages served up
from apache on my linux box with no problem. Even have mod_perl and
mod_php4 working fine. When I (or anyone else) tries to connect to my
website using either the dyanmic dns name or my actual WAN IP address, they
just time out, and there is no trace of them in my linux access logs.

I thought it might be a problem with the port forwarding from my router, but
since sendmail works fine receiving mail, then outside requests to port 25
must reach the machine fine.

Any suggestions? Is it a virtual server configuration problem? Is it
another apache configuration problem?

If someone is willing to help me troubleshoot, send me an email and I'll
give you my address specifics.

Thanks in advance...

mike
