On a Gateway 3110 with an Adaptec 294x card, the only way I could get SuSE
linux to run was to load the AIC7xxx with the no_reset parameter (otherwise,
it sat waiting for a bus reset until .. well, I don't know when. I killed it
after two hours). You might want to try that and see if it helps! :-)
