As I waited for YDL2.0 to release, I installed the Debian dist on
my Pismo. In very broad terms each dist provided basically the
same software: an installer, app updating facilities, X windowing,
the Gimp, &c.

The most palpable difference for me came after installation. When
it was time to ask questions. On the Debian lists, Apple hardware
is a supported architecture; but it's definitely a niche. Here, it's
bread and butter. While not every question I've ever asked here
has been answered, this list has gone a long way to helping me
squeeze more enjoyment from linux.
