I was in much the same situation with regards to purchasing the CDs.
As a newbie, I coughed up the extra dough and signed up for the added
tech support. After only a month, I'm using the KDE desktop as a
primary OS for (2) of my desktop computers and am next undertaking
conversion of (2) 9600s into YDL file servers. The OS has already
paid off for itself. It's also doing wonders in reinforcing my
understanding of Mac OS X/OS X server. I'm also sharing my new
interest with other Mac users in Chicago.

As a rule, I dislike purchasing software (prefer borrowing it from
friends), but in this case, YDL is certainly worth supporting because
these developers seem quite passionate about their Mac distro of
Linux. As a practice, it probably would be a good idea for us
end-users to consider purchasing new CDs when they come out. This
will help assure that YDL developers continue their Mac evolution of
a product that has leveled the playing field for many computer users
in the server world, and hopefully now, on desktop environments
everywhere.

Good Luck,
Ody Johnson
