Many thanks to Jim Cole for pointing me in the right direction to solve
this problem. I thought I would post in case others run into this
situation.

> The recipient, "foobar@foobar.com" is not acceptable to your SMTP server.
> The message is not sendable until "foobar@forbar.com" is changed.

The maillog indicated it was a relay problem. After checking the files and
directories in etc I discovered that by adding IP number ranges for the
networks we are using in /etc/mail/access and specifying relay for them,
the problem disappeared.
